30 DAY CHALLENGE: DAY 9
Day 9 of my 30 DAY CHALLENGE ... a picture I took. This is my niece Taylor, taken at a family party.
I love the composition of this image and the way the colors contrast, but the tones work together harmoniously. Maybe one day get into photography as a profession.

30 DAY CHALLENGE: DAY 8
Day 8 of my 30 DAY CHALLENGE, something that makes me angry or sad.
This just rocks my world!
Watoto is an holistic care program, founded by Gary and Marilyn Skinner, that was initiated as a response to the overwhelming number of orphaned children and vulnerable women in Uganda, whose lives have been ravaged by war and disease. (sited: Watoto/About us)
I was introduced to this cause by my friend Jenni, who also heads the missions ministry at my church. In the process of adopting her own baby (originally from Uganda, but now from Ethiopia), God just broke her heart for the devastated lives children of third world nations have to endure. Through her fierce determination, a group of us were to go to Uganda in August. Unfortunately, we were unable to make it due to the fact that our church burnt down. ... LOL! (not as bad as it sounds) and there is always next year!!

It's written by a husband-wife team, the Beckwith's - him, a bestselling business writer and head of a marketing firm; her, an award-winning speaker. It's short and to-the-point lessons talk about things like: clear communication is the key, people buy into your story vs your list of achievements, and have an authentic message because in the end, people will buy into you before your product.

My Dog Alice
My husband took this yesterday and I just had to post it!
This is Alice, my Pitbull Princess. (named after Alice, from Alice In Wonderland, another movie favorite)
All those who know her, know she has the sweetest disposition. Bordering on pathetic and always like, "what the heck?!" because I've done everything from putting socks on her paws to allowing my sister-in-law to paint her nails to this ...
She's such a good sport but I know she's probably like, "you guys suck!" LOL

30 DAY CHALLENGE: DAY 2
Today I tell you my favorite movie. Another tough one, but I'm so for team Edward!
I love anything Vampires and I'm loving the Twilight series. Plus, I'm a HUGE sucker for romance.
Usually movies aren't as good as the book, but these movies give someone who hasn't read the books a good idea of the story ... although I highly recommend reading the books, they are an easy read and highly entertaining!
And yes, I was one of those who contributed to it's opening night of 69M. Some friends and I waited from 6:30pm till it's 12:01am showing ... crazy, I know ... LOL
I just have to add, I have uber amounts of respect for the writer, Stephanie Meyer. In today's day, with kids having premarital sex, it shows them that waiting IS ok ... so refreshing!! Hopefully, if they try and emulate anything, it will be Bella and Edward.

30 DAY CHALLENGE: DAY 1
So, today's the day ...
Day 1 of LET'S GET PERSONAL: 30 DAY CHALLENGE - my favorite song
This is really difficult because there are so many amazing songs out there ... both past and present!! Songs tell a story through lyrics and musical phrasing, evoking a response that is reflective of your present mood. To pick just one would only define what present state of mind I'm in at that time.
So, to stay true to myself, I'll have to go back to the days of my youth ... not that I'm old, but a more care-free, no responsibility, still trying to figure out who I am day (a.k.a: high-school). That when I hear it, it still brings me to a place were I want to take off my shoes and dance around like the dirty (wannabee) hippie I used to be - LOL

I just have to say, Jim Morrison was an amazing lyricist and poet. Through his songs and introspective ramblings during concerts, he took you on the journey of his tortured psyche. We can all relate in one form or another!

LETS GET PERSONAL: 30 DAY CHALLENGE
I have a whole arsenal of blogs I like to shop around for daily motivation - I say motivation rather than inspiration because, as it is always inspiration, it is motivation - to move, get things done, push myself to step out in faith, focus and persevere.
By the time I notice, hours have gone by and I'm (x) number of blogs deep! So, I'm not sure how I came across Your Bliss Blog but I stumbled upon a great resource for wedding inspiration ... oh, if I could only do it all over *sigh* ...
After reading a few pages, I saw a trend of posts dedicated to a 30 Day Challenge, "what is this I asked?". Being the Type A that I am, I dug deep until I found the initial thought idea, Getting Personal in 30 Days!
I thought it would be a great way to kick of my new blog: RAMBLINGS OF A TYPE A ARTIST.
